Social Media Performance Specialist
Social Media Performance Specialist, Social Media Department
(This role will be based out of our Syracuse, NY or Rochester, NY offices)
We’re looking for a Social Media Performance Specialist to join our social media team and help maximize the impact of the content we create every day.
This role sits at the intersection of organic social, paid media and analytics. You’ll work alongside our social, content, creative and strategy teams to determine when and how paid support can help great content reach the right audiences — and then use performance data to make the next piece of content even better.
This is not a traditional media planning role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on in the platforms every day: boosting posts, building audiences, managing budgets, monitoring performance and continually optimizing. Just as importantly, you’ll be responsible for translating that performance into actionable insights for our teams and clients.
Responsibilities:
Paid Social & Amplification
- Manage the day-to-day paid amplification of organic social content across platforms including Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others as appropriate.
- Evaluate content and recommend which posts should receive paid support based on client goals, content performance and available budget.
- Set up and manage boosted posts and paid social campaigns, including objectives, audiences, placements, budgets and flighting.
- Manage and pace amplification budgets across multiple clients and campaigns.
- Proactively shift investment based on performance and opportunity.
Measurement & Optimization
- Establish the appropriate KPIs for campaigns and individual content based on their objectives, including reach, engagement, video views, traffic, conversions and other relevant metrics.
- Monitor performance and continually optimize budgets, audiences, placements and creative.
- Develop testing approaches across creative, messaging, formats, audiences and investment levels.
- Identify trends and opportunities that can improve performance over time.
Reporting & Insights
- Develop clear, concise performance reporting for internal teams and clients.
- Go beyond reporting what happened to explain why it happened and what we should do next.
- Identify which creative approaches, messages, formats, hooks, creators and content themes are driving results.
- Analyze audience performance to better understand who is engaging with different types of content.
- Turn paid social performance into actionable recommendations for future organic and paid content.
Collaboration
- Work closely with social strategists, community managers, content creators, designers and broader media teams.
- Bring performance insights directly into content planning and creative development.
- Help teams understand how content may need to change when paid amplification is part of the strategy.
- Partner with broader paid media teams when larger campaigns require more sophisticated media planning or buying.
- Stay current on platform capabilities, algorithm changes, advertising products and social best practices.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on paid social or social media advertising experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager; experience with TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other social advertising platforms is a plus.
- Experience managing and pacing paid social budgets.
- Strong understanding of social media KPIs and how they connect to different campaign objectives.
- Experience building and evaluating social audiences and targeting strategies.
- Ability to analyze performance data and turn it into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of social creative and what makes content perform.
- Comfortable managing multiple clients, campaigns and budgets simultaneously.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive.
- Able to communicate performance and recommendations clearly to both social experts and people who don't live in Ads Manager every day.
