Associate Media Strategist, Media Department  

(This role will be based out of our Rochester or Syracuse offices)

We’re looking for a talented Associate Media Strategist to join our growing Media Team at PHG! 

As an Associate Media Strategist, you’ll be responsible for media planning and media buying across 3-5 accounts. To be successful in this role, it is crucial to have an understanding of the digital media landscape, including Google, Social and Programmatic, as well as understand how to set up, manage and optimize campaigns. 

In this role, you’ll be working collaboratively with Media Buyers, Digital Strategy and Analytics teams. 

Planning: 

  • Collaborate with the Media Strategy and Account teams on upcoming campaigns determining best platforms, target audience, and creative strategies to implement to develop media plans.   
  • Use research and data to recommend platform budgets for campaigns.  

Buying, Pacing and Optimizations: 

  • Build and set up campaigns, including setting up appropriate tagging and tracking.  
  • Bid/buy and place campaigns within various digital platforms including Google and Social platforms managing the ongoing real-time optimization of live media to ensure client goals are met and/or exceeded. 
  • Traffic creative/campaign assets to external vendors.  
  • Monitor campaigns for performance ensuring campaigns are pacing accordingly, managing spend, troubleshooting campaigns, creating insights about performance, making updates accordingly and flagging potential issues to digital strategy.  
  • Manage client media budgets. Submit monthly digital media billing for assigned accounts.  

Reporting: 

  • Provide data, insights and trends to help inform campaign reporting for key accounts.  

Best Practices: 

  • Manage platform relationships for partners including: Meta, Google, LinkedIn and relevant media vendors. Understand paid media best practices, innovations and advertising options. Share with others on the team. 

Ideal Skills/Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience buying digital media  
  • Hands-on experience buying within Google, paid social or programmatic platforms, and have worked with analytics, attribution, and measurement systems 
  • Retail and Shopper Media experience a plus  
  • Google Ads and Google Analytics certification preferred 
  • Outstanding organizational skills 
  • Strong detail management 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications ability 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution is required

Total compensation for this role is designed to be competitive with the market. The anticipated salary range for this Syracuse, NY-based position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The final offer will depend on the candidate's experience, skills, abilities, and geographic location, along with other business and organizational considerations.
